Trailfest Trail Information
Vehicle Tech Inspection
- Each event vehicle must pass a simple safety inspection. Your vehicle will be checked for the following items.
If you do not pass the inspection, you will not be able to ride the trails that day. The items to be checked are clearly specified below
so attendees will not have any surprises. To ensure a full weekend of trail riding, please verify your vehicle meets all of these requirements before you leave home.
- Open top or soft top vehicles must have a Roll Bar protecting all passengers.
- Seat belts for all passengers.
- Vehicle battery must be secure in proper battery tray.
- Vehicles must have front AND rear tow points. Leaf spring shackles are not considered a tow point. Proper tow hooks or D-Rings please.
- Vehicle must have a full size spare tire (or nearly full size, no ‘donuts’).
- Vehicle should not leak fluids. A drop or two during inspection is ok, leaving a puddle is not.
- Tech Inspection will be performed once, at the time of check-in for the event. Your vehicle must be inspected prior to making your trail selection.
- Vehicle will get a colored vulture sticker after inspection. The color will be green, blue or black. This will let trail leaders know the capabilities of your rig.
Of course a rig with a black sticker may choose to run green or blue trails all weekend.
- We would like to keep group sizes to around 10 vehicles or less. There may be several black or blue groups going out. This will be determined after registration.
Rausch Creek Trails
- See Rausch Creek website for park description.
- Rausch Creek membership and entrance fees are not included in Trailfest registration.
- Download these Rausch Creek Waiver and Application Forms. Filling them out ahead of time will speed things up.
Rausch Creek offers a discount on multiple day entrance fees. You can get a five day pass for $125.
- The final of the Rausch Creek rock racing series will be going on Saturday on the North property. This will not affect our trail access. It may be nice however to take a long lunch and check out some of the action across the street. Some of our NOVA club members may be competing there if all goes well this year.
